Cosmetics have long played an important in non-verbal communication, religious ceremonies, and so on. For me, cosmetics are not just adornments to make one's appearance more attractive; rather, I see them as tangible signs of the power, ideas, emotions, attitudes, and hopes of people that they create on the surface of their bodies. Cosmetics are also used to express thoughts of "I always want to be like I am now (a young woman)," fears about becoming “old," and rebellion against “the ideal image of womanhood demanded by society".
